Meet the Team

Dr. Melissa Kozakewich DVM (aka Dr. K)

Dr. K graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine located in Saskatchewan in 2013. Prior to this, she completed a Bachelor of Sciences in Agriculture degree at the University of Alberta (U of A). She grew up on a mixed animal farm northeast of Edmonton and has been working in veterinary clinics since high school. Her passion for animal welfare, husbandry and medicine has been ever present.

Dr. K became an associate veterinarian here at Ardrossan Veterinary Clinic in 2014. After 7 years of serving as Ardrossan's full-time veterinarian, she took over as the owner of the practice. Since January of 2022, she started the process of building a brand new building for the clinic to call home.

In her spare time (when it can be found), she enjoys spending time with her husband, Irish Wolfhounds, cats, and horses. Dr. K loves gardening, camping, kayaking, fishing and horse back riding.

Kirstin Laird RVT

Kirstin has been a Registered Veterinary Technologist since 2007, when she graduated from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). Prior to that she completed a Bachelor of Biological Sciences at the University of Alberta (U of A). She has always been interested in the inner workings of things and problem solving, so working in a veterinary clinic was a perfect fit.

Kirstin has worked at many different clinics, collecting techniques, skills, and knowledge over her career. She came to Ardrossan Veterinary Clinic in March of 2022, and hopes it will be her forever home.

Kindra Hoffos RVT

Kindra has been working as a Registered Veterinary Technologist since 2018 following completion of the AHT Program at Lakeland College in Vermillion, Alberta. She chose Ardrossan Veterinary Clinic as her practicum placement. Not long after she gladly accepted a long term position with us. She has been working alongside Dr. K since. She has created amazing relationships with our clientele while continuing to learn and grow her knowledge in small animal medicine. Kindra takes special interest in client education and ensuring our furry patients are loved and cared for during their stay.

When Kindra isn't working, she is out exploring the world with her two young daughters and husband. She loves to hike and camp, cook for her family, and craft with her kids. Any down time she has is spent at home with her two cats and Pitbull.
