We understand that choosing surgery for a beloved animal companion is never easy. Our team will provide ongoing education about the surgical process — from the initial appointment to the last follow-up appointment. We are committed to helping our clients become knowledgeable about their pet’s health and confident in providing them with exceptional care.

We offer a range of surgical procedures for cats and dogs, including:

  • Spays and neuters
  • Soft tissue surgery
  • Mass removal
  • Oral surgery
  • Abdominal surgery, including foreign body removal

Pre-Surgery

Preparation for surgery begins several days before the procedure. First, we discuss the proposed surgery, making sure to review the following:

  • Risks and benefits of surgery
  • Details of the procedure
  • Information on how to prepare your pet for surgery
  • Expectations for recovery and post-operative care

Next, we complete an important pre-surgery evaluation, to increase your pet’s safety and comfort. These tests may include:

  • Physical exam
  • Lump Cytology/testing
  • Bloodwork
  • Digital x-rays
  • Referral for Ultrasound

On the day of surgery, we prepare your pet for the procedure. This preparation includes:

  • Administering customized anesthesia
  • Providing individualized pain management medications

During Surgery

Our goal is to increase your pet’s safety and comfort throughout the procedure. We have a licensed veterinary technician who monitors your pet at all times. Our technicians use the latest cardiovascular monitoring equipment, which allows us to track your pet’s vital signs in real time, including:

  • Heart rate and rhythm
  • Respiratory rate
  • Blood pressure
  • Body temperature
  • Oxygen levels
  • Carbon dioxide levels
  • Capillary refill time

Post-Surgery

After the procedure, we want your pet to recover quickly and comfortably. We take pride in offering continuous support post-surgery, including:

  • Ongoing pain management for a comfortable recovery in the clinic and at home
  • Comprehensive discharge instructions for recovery and home-care after surgery
  • Follow-up calls and/or appointments to monitor healing and progress
